All five events connect: the small company from event one carries through each simulation, gets acquired, and becomes the Jackson business unit the class grows in event five.
The program runs over roughly nine months, with the simulation events spaced across that time and coaching running alongside them.
Event format
Every simulation event is a 12-hour training experience over two days, starting at noon on day one and ending at 2 PM on day two. Each event includes a team-building activity on the evening of day one; Jackson funds the activity (food and activity), and Looking Forward Consulting plans it at no added fee.
Participants run a small healthcare organization that will eventually be acquired by Jackson Healthcare. They own every part of the business: finance, sales, recruiting, operations and people, and feel how each decision ripples through the rest.

Wisdom is the discernment to determine the best methods to achieve the best objectives; knowing which actions to take to achieve goals and determining which goals are worth achieving.
During this simulation we explore the short term and long term impact of decision making. Participants see how a choice that wins this quarter can create costs years later, and how patient decisions can compound into lasting advantage. Along the way we introduce the skills behind better decisions: framing the real problem, testing assumptions, weighing tradeoffs and risk, seeking diverse input, and knowing when to decide with incomplete information.

Others first means thinking about the needs of others before your own, recognizing the value of each individual and treating others as you would like to be treated.
During this simulation we look at the impact of our relationships. Participants use communication skills with simulated employees and stakeholders, and their words and tone carry real consequences. They also build the skills to develop others: coaching in the moment, giving candid and caring feedback, delegating to stretch people, and growing future leaders. Throughout, they practice the principles of servant leadership: listening first, showing empathy, earning trust, removing obstacles for their teams, and measuring their own success by the growth and success of the people they lead.

Growth is the journey of continuing to get better in all that you do and striving to be the best you can be at all times.
During this simulation participants focus on strategies to grow the business or methods to mitigate risk. Each participant also builds a strategic growth plan for their own group: a five-year, quarter-by-quarter roadmap that sets goals, priorities, milestones and the people and capabilities needed to get there. When the Strategic Plan and Capstone option is included, this growth plan becomes a core part of the plan each leader presents at the capstone.

The whole class works together to grow a Jackson Healthcare business unit from acquisition to maturity, applying Wisdom, Others First and Growth at enterprise scale. Teams then run a shorter, full-scale simulation that brings together every part of the business, from finance and operations to sales, people and risk, so they see how their decisions connect across the whole company.

Members of the Jackson Healthcare executive team join sessions for candid Q&A discussions and short mini-teaches during the simulation.
Included at no added fee, so turning it off does not change the price
Every participant builds a strategic plan that encompasses Others First, Growth and Wisdom. They receive coaching on the plan throughout the program and present it at the final capstone event. The growth plan from the Growth event feeds into it. Includes the strategic planning framework and the additional instructional design needed to establish the program.
$12,000 one-time development fee
Two 1:1 coaching sessions per month for 9 months, per participant, tied directly to the simulation work and each leader's strategic plan.
$4,500 per participant x 14 = $63,000
